No. 1 Washburn Wins 31st Straight

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The No. 1-ranked Washburn Blues shook off a sluggish start to win its 31st consecutive game in a 74-64 win over Truman State. WIth the win, the Blues improve to 12-0 overall.

Junior forward Brooke Ubelaker tied her career-high with 31 points on 13 of 19 shooting from the field to go along with five rebounds. Junior forward Megan Sullivan had a new career-high with 20 points while recording her first double double at Washburn with 10 rebounds. Junior guard Cindy Keeley joined the duo in double figures with 10 points. Jennifer Harris dished out 10 assists.

In the first half, the Blues found themseveles down by the largest margin all season trailing the Bulldogs by nine points after Truman ripped off a 14-2 run. However after building the score to 19-10, the Bulldogs would not score over nearly the next 10 minutes as the Blues chalked up a 22-0 run of their own leading to a 35-24 halftime lead. The Blues held the Bulldogs to 32 percent shooting in the first half. Ubelaker had 15 points in the first half and
Sullivan scored 10.
 
In the second half, the Blues would lead by as many as 16 at 67-51 as Washburn shot 59 percent from the field hitting 17 of 29 atttempts.

The Blues outrebounded Truman 37 to 25 as Washburn recorded 26 assists on the evening on 29 made field goals.
